The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a professional postgraduate degree program focused on computer science, software engineering, and modern application development. It bridges the gap between theoretical computer science and practical, real-world software engineering.
The curriculum is designed to equip students with core programming competencies, database management, software architecture, and exposure to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity. It prepares graduates for roles such as Software Engineer, System Analyst, Full-Stack Developer, Data Analyst, and Database Administrator.
MCA: 2 Years (4 Semesters) (As per AICTE guidelines)
Internal Assessment (30% to 40% Weightage):
Mid-term exams & class tests
Practical lab sessions and continuous coding assignments
Seminars, group projects, and class attendance
External / Semester-End Exams (60% to 70% Weightage):
End-semester written theory examinations assessing concepts, algorithms, and logic.
Practical & Project Work:
Semester Practical Labs: Evaluation of programming skills in languages like C/C++, Java, Python, SQL, and Web Technologies.
Major Industrial Project / Internship: In the final semester, students complete a live software development project or corporate internship along with a thesis submission and viva-voce.
